Testing
A wide variety of tests and assessments are provided to students at various times of the year to measure their progress, as well as help them determine career opportunities, apply for college, and seek scholarships.

All students are required to take the SAHS Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments (MCA) in the Spring:

  • Reading in Grade 10
  • Mathematics in Grade 11
  • Science when enrolled in Biology

The college admission assessment test ACT is administered to all 11th grade students in the state of Minnesota each spring. There are multiple dates in various locations throughout the year in which students can register to take the ACT.  All 10th grade students take a preACT in the fall, a preparatory assessment in the ACT format that yields a predictive ACT score.

Students may also choose to take Advanced Placement tests after completing an AP course, and the PSAT as a National Merit Scholarship qualifying test.
