Equal Educational Opportunity
Stillwater Area Public Schools is committed to providing all students with equal access to educational programs, activities, services, and opportunities in a safe, welcoming, and inclusive learning environment.
The district does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, creed, religion, national origin, sex, marital status, familial status, disability, public assistance status, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, or any other status protected by federal or Minnesota law. This commitment applies to all district educational programs, activities, services, and employment.
The district provides reasonable accommodations and equal access for qualified individuals with disabilities in accordance with applicable law.
Title IX Notice of Nondiscrimination
The district does not discriminate on the basis of sex and prohibits sex discrimination in any education program or activity that it operates, as required by Title IX, including employment.
District Responsibility
The district promptly responds to and investigates reports of discrimination, harassment, violence, retaliation, and other prohibited conduct in accordance with district policy and applicable law. Complaints involving harassment and violence are addressed under Policy 413, while complaints involving discrimination or harassment based on sex are addressed under Policy 522 (Title IX).
The district will take reasonable steps to protect the privacy of all parties and witnesses to the extent possible while ensuring a fair and thorough investigation. Retaliation against any individual for reporting, participating in, or assisting with an investigation is strictly prohibited.
Reporting a Concern
Students, parents, employees, or community members who believe they have experienced or witnessed discrimination or harassment are encouraged to report their concerns promptly. Reports may be submitted in writing, by email, in person, or by phone.
