Personal Finance Team Takes First Place!
STILLWATER AREA HIGH SCHOOL -- April 16, 2024 -- Four students combined to claim the top spot at the Minnesota Personal Finance Decathlon.
Evan Cadenhead, Jair Diaz, Coosjes Singhvi, and Mason Warlick's efforts led the SAHS team to finish first in a field of over 80 teams across the state. The rigorous competition tests real-world financial literacy in 10 areas, including insurance and economics.
With the win, the team earned a spot at the state-level case study competition on April 25 where they'll tackle the challenge of developing budgets and financial plans for a family. With a win at that event, the team would advance to compete at a national competition in Cleveland, Ohio in May.
