Back to School Supplies & Technology 2023 - 2024
Welcome back to school!
As the calendar moves into the second half of summer, many students and families begin to think about needed school supplies for the upcoming school year.
School supply lists for all grades can be found HERE.
All students are encouraged to bring their district-issued technology device every day.
Today more than ever, students need access to technology for school purposes, as schools have expanded the uses of technology from simple word processing and internet research to include communication, assignment submission, and even assessment. Technology devices will be used every day in the classroom. Students may use a personally owned device (with the exception of cell phones – cell phones should not be considered a tech device for learning purposes) but are highly encouraged to use the chromebook that was issued last year as these devices are equipped with software needed for school functions. Personal devices will no longer use the Pony network, but will be allowed on the Guest network. Any personal device previously enrolled on ‘PonyNet’ will need to change to the ‘ISD834Guest’ wifi network.
Most 9th - 12th grade students should have retained the device that was issued to them last year and should continue to use this device for the 2023 - 2024 school year. Students who turned their chromebook back in over the summer and need to be reissued a device may pick one up at Pony Round Up on Friday, 8/18 or once school begins.
Students are responsible for any device which is checked out to them. Information related to responsibility, fines, and fees can be found in the Student Handbook and on our One-to-one Technology webpage HERE.
The district will assign a hotspot (internet access) if needed to students as supplies are available. We recommend that every child in the household has access to their own device so that families can engage in learning time together at home. Students and parents who require internet access should complete and submit the google form linked below:
-
We have limited supplies and ask that you make these requests as soon as possible.
-
This opportunity is intended for students who do not have access to the internet at home.
-
Here is the link for a hotspot (internet access).
We look forward to seeing you in a few short weeks!
