Armada Robotics Building Success, Passion, and Inclusion in Competition
STILLWATER AREA HIGH SCHOOL -- April 15, 2024 -- As a FIRST Robotics team, Armada Robotics is striving to create a fun and inclusive environment for team members, helping kids to develop a passion for STEM, and become the next generation of engineers.
This year’s 10,000 Lakes Regional Competition at the University of Minnesota was one of their best in history. After the qualification round, Armada Robotics ranked 7th of 62 teams from around the world. Being in the top-8 advanced the team into the finals as an alliance captain, meaning the team got to choose other teams to compete with them in the playoffs. They ultimately tied for 5th in the semifinals after a hard match.
The team is also proud to have earned the Dow Team Sustainability Award marking their first award since 2017. Teams have the ability to win awards outside of the actual competition and in this case the SAHS team showed their ability to promote their program and recruit new members into Robotics. The team is now gearing up for their upcoming off-season events.
