Nate Cox Named Stillwater Area High School Activities Director
STILLWATER, Minn. -- June 20, 2024 -- Following the retirement of long-time Activities Director Ricky Michel, Stillwater Area High School has selected Nate Cox as the new Activities Director.
Cox is a highly respected leader in the Stillwater school district, as he served as Lily Lake Elementary's principal for the last eight years, and was the principal at Oak Park Elementary prior to that. Cox also holds 10 years of experience as an elementary administrator in Willmar.
"We are truly fortunate to have someone as experienced from all angles, organized, and is committed to the Pony community as Nate is," Stillwater Area High School Principal Rob Bach said.
In addition to his administrative experience, Cox was a head coach during his teaching days and has served as one of the top volleyball officials in the state for the past several years.
"Since becoming a part of the Stillwater community 11 years ago, I have been a proud supporter of all Pony activities," Cox said. "I have a passion to see young people thrive through arts and athletics and can still remember the huge impact extracurriculars had on my development during my high school and college years. I want to see the tradition of excellence in Stillwater continue by helping showcase the incredible talents and leadership of our students."
Please welcome Cox to this new position and congratulate Ricky Michel on his retirement after 33 years of service to Stillwater Area Public Schools.
