Apply for community scholarships
Did you know that Stillwater Area High School seniors are eligible for more than half a million dollars in community scholarships? Various organizations, individuals and businesses designate scholarship money every year specifically for SAHS seniors.
The window for seniors to apply is from December 14, 2022 at 2:30 p.m. through February 17, 2023 at 3:00 p.m.

Instructions for completing the SAHS Community Scholarships
To begin the process go to Schoology. Access code: HHX3-8SK5-X44MP

Step 1:
Read the Instructions for applying for scholarships which can be found in the "Start Here!" folder in Schoology. Next, review the Scholarship Quick Guide to find the scholarships which you are interested in. You must then read the full descriptions of the scholarships that can be found on the Complete List of 2022-2023 Scholarships. Create your list of scholarships that you wish to apply for.
Step 2:
Fill out the Application found in the "Scholarship Application" folder.
Information needed for this form: personal data, post-secondary info, community service, work experience, extracurricular activities and honors/awards & Financial information (applicable for certain scholarships). Once you have submitted this form you will receive a confirmation email including a pdf copy of your application. SAVE this PDF.
Step 3:
Prepare your Required Materials. These are mandatory for each scholarship. Required materials need to be in PDF format and will be submitted for each scholarship to which you apply.
Required Materials (submitted with EACH scholarship):
Application - Completed PDF version that is emailed to you
Essay - Please choose 1 from the following (respond to the prompt in no more than 300 words):
1. Describe a problem you have solved or a problem you would like to solve. It can be an intellectual challenge, a research query, an ethical dilemma- anything that is of personal importance to you, no matter the scale. Explain its significance to you and what steps you took or could be taken to identify a solution.
OR
2. Describe a topic, idea, or concept you find so engaging that it makes you lose track of time. Why does it captivate you? What or who do you turn to when you still want to learn more?

Save as PDF with title: “Last Name, First Name - Personal Statement”
Unofficial Transcript - Transcripts MUST include 1st semester senior grades.

Unofficial transcripts are accessible in your PowerSchool Account. Instructions on accessing this can be found in the "Resources" folder in Schoology
ACT scores will NOT be required for 2022-2023. Submitted scores will not impact awards
Step 4:
Watch for additional requirements (essays, acceptance letters, etc). Partial submissions will not be accepted/reviewed. All PDFs must be included in a single submission for each scholarship.
Step 5:
Create a Google Drive Folder for your community scholarship application and materials. Upload all documents and change share access to “anyone who has the link”. Save.
Step 6:
Go back to the Schoology Scholarship Course. Click on and complete Submitting Your Completed Application. You will need the link from your scholarship google drive folder.
