Prerequisite: Intro to Video Production
Credits: 1 semester
In the Advanced Video course students will enhance their skills in the elements, techniques and processes of video production, building off their knowledge gained in Intro to Video. They will achieve this by meeting the following learning targets: writing scripts and creating storyboards, producing and editing a variety of productions. The digital videos will be both short and long format and will include public service announcements, instructional, promotional and training videos, music videos, etc. This course will build technical and creative skills along with presenting real world situations such as client contact, financial management and project planning and execution. The students will be involved with each project from concept to completion. Equipment used will include digital video and still cameras and MacIntosh and PC computers. Students will use editing, graphic and music software and will have the option to bring their own hardware device. Classroom software used includes Adobe Rush, Adobe Premiere, PhotoShop and the entire Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, GarageBand, Photos, Keynote, Google Docs and Stillwater Cloud Apps for video production, editing, research and writing. It is encouraged but not mandatory to bring personal digital cameras and laptops, headphones/earbuds, flash drive or external hard drive, video capable sd card. Editing software will be provided to students who bring their personal laptops which meet hardware requirements. This course may be used to meet the art graduation credit requirement and will provide an opportunity for students to find success. Course prerequisite: Must have completed Intro to Video Production or have teacher approval.
